    Looks like an interesting ship!
The whole hull made of ALU? Looks like ALOT of welding...
Any special reason for making it like that? One of design?

Shape of the hull resembles a Colin Archer shape, also the Colin Archer "spinoff" Randøy 28 / Breiflabb shape.

Do you have a webpage with more information?

PS: Looks like you have a very high percentage of women helpers

    Edit: forgot something

not a spinoff. its a true CA. (down to 2 cm accuracy) Alloy is THE material for the future!
seems girls are more into living their life these days than their counterpart!. :-)

I did not mean to say yours were a spinoff - the Randøy is.

Must be the first CA in Alloy??
    Anyways, very cool =)

True. I have never seen before. Anyway. Someone have to be the first. Never seen lapstrake alloy sailboat either. So someone have to be first there also. :-)

But the dreams are the same.

Sailing into the sunset, visiting those beautiful small lagoons.. ahh.

    All true

Is the boat redesigned and calculated with regards to weight etc. or are you planning as you go along?
Always cool to see more from a designprocess like this, so please lay out the details of the build for us if you have time!

I always envy the people who actually manages to live by their mantra like that.
    Life is too short.

    thanks,

its a little tricky to do precise weight calculation so we do it by the old good way. stuff in some tonns of lead and go for a test sail, then move it back and forward and look for changes.
we know where the waterline is from drawing so in end its more or less finding the position of the ballast in the boat. It will be lead ingots of around 20-30 kg each so easy to move around.
Total weight is around 20 tonns fully loaded.
thats include water, diving equipment, tools, food, etc.

Not to complain about how people should live their life. There are no norwegian volunteers involved in this project in spite of heavy marketing inside Norway. It seems such dreams are more popular for people further south in Europe.

    A little strange.

    Hi

There are many Norwegians who build boats and sail for the sunset.
You are a member of "Baatplassen", so you have probably seen this page:
http://baatplassen.no/i/index.php?showtopic=63666 So far it is most about the building, but it is impressing.

At least 40 sailboats leave Norway and go chrusing every year. Most of them head for the Caribian, the Med or circumnavigate.
    See http://www.fjordsailing.no/old/?page=2

Many of them have the same dreams as you, even if they not join your project.

I have chrused (and dived on the trip as well) for 2 1/2 year and enjoyed many quiet anchorages. Now we save money for at 2 years trip to the Pacific. But I do not want to join your project.
